I'll dominate 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Former twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I will damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
Despite these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
Still, the novice is still one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As the two fighters participated in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually happening.
