A person who laced sweets with sedative and distributed them to minors at a summer camp in Leicestershire has admitted sexual offenses against two children both nine and ten years old.
The accused was arrested after eight minors and one adult fell ill at Stathern Lodge in the summer month.
The elderly man, from the Nottinghamshire area, admitted guilt to a total of 17 charges when he stood at Leicester Crown Court on the end of the week.
Nevertheless, he disputed one of the sexual offences he was accused of, which was against a young boy.
The accused was kept in jail ahead of a additional proceeding on late November.
'Treat game'
The prosecutor, prosecuting, outlined the defendant's actions to the judicial body.
She explained his victims were under-privileged children who were attending a youth camp which he managed.
The defendant played a "candy game" with the youngsters, Mrs Prior stated, in which he would access the sleeping quarters when they were getting ready for bed and tell them to ingest treats "as quickly as they can".
She told the court the defendant had conducted this practice with the children "repeatedly", and children had previously fallen ill the following morning.
She said the defendant had been able to explain this over a long period as the children being "overexcited from fun", until his stepchild had concerns in recently.
The legal representative added: "Recently" his stepchild had worries about the situation, with valid cause.
"They decided to have a look in the individual's items."
The legal counsel stated items including infant oil, Vaseline and injection devices were located, and his stepchild alerted the authorities about his suspicions.
She explained the defendant continued to play the "candy game" with six youngsters that time - July 26th - and they were all sick the subsequent day.
"Law enforcement" had not responded by that point," she stated further.
The regulatory agency, the investigative body, previously told that it was investigating Leicestershire Police's handling of the incident.
Mrs Prior explained the children were struggling to walk due to being ill, so the stepson called the law enforcement again.
She explained the defendant then played the "sweet game" in a space of five youngsters.
